Services
The following are services administered and offered for use by any jurisdiction.
Youth Court:
Provide staff and program supervision to augment County staff. Receive informal and formal referrals for criminal and non-criminal issues. Our staff works closely with County personnel to ease their caseloads and allow Counselors to concentrate on more serious offenders. We are able to design supervision programs that specifically meet the need of your agency.
School Drug Testing and Attendance:
Truancy Supervision programs are in place and have proven successful to address the lack of school attendance by youth in a community. Parental education and involvement is stressed. School attendance Officers and our staff work closely together to divert filings with the Youth Court. Random and detailed drug testing is available for students who participate in extracurricular school activities.
Pre-trial Release:
Provides supervision for those offenders who have been charged with an offense and are awaiting trial or other disposition of their case. Utilized by the Courts to improve the percentage of offenders that appear for their case disposition. Defendants report weekly either in person or by phone and court date appearance is stressed. Our staff is able to notify defendants of Court dates by text, phone, and e-mail.
Diversion Programs:
Enables deferred prosecution for defendants. This program offered by CPI allows the Court of original jurisdiction to assure compliance with Court ordered conditions to include the collection of court fines while allowing the Court the option to withhold adjudication on those defendants who qualify. Reduces cost to the City and the tax payer by lessening the overall cost of prosecution. The minimum period of supervision is six months and may be extended to a maximum of twenty-four months if so ordered. Most conditions of reporting probation can apply to include drug testing, etc.
Reporting Probation:
This is our core function and one of the most essential services we offer as it benefits the community as a whole. Courts specify certain conditions to be completed throughout the term of probation. Conditions may include but are not limited to obtaining a valid drivers license, DUI school attendance, random drug urinalysis and evaluations for anger management, alcohol and/or drug abuse. The supervision of defendants includes enforcement of restitution owed to victims and/or Court related assessments and fines. It is an alternative to incarceration and should be considered for indigent offenders who may not be able to afford or pay court ordered fines or assessments immediately.
Reporting Probation has proven to be an extremely successful tool utilized by the Court as it allows defendants to complete their conditions of probation in a timely manner, avoid incarceration, maintain employment, support their families, and remain a productive citizen in their community. Defendants report at a minimum of once a month but may be required to report more frequently if required. Indigent offenders are eligible for monitoring at no cost.
GPS monitoring & House Arrest:
GPS is an intensive supervision method with the defendant being monitored constantly via satellite technology. It enables us to track the location of the defendant and movements anywhere in the world. A one-piece GPS unit with Security steel straps can be used to prevent tampering. Device allows for real time communications with defendant over monitoring device. Virtual zones can be assigned to exclude the offender from designated areas and protect victims. Utilized as an alternative to jail time and saves the City liabilities and expenses.
Alcohol Abuse Monitoring/SCRAM:
Program available to monitor the consumption of alcohol by pre-trial or convicted offenders. This is done through an ankle monitor called SCRAM and is utilized by various Courts throughout the United States. This system enables the Court to enforce the condition of no consumption of alcohol on related cases.
