SCRAM CAM FAQ'S
Is the device waterproof?
No. The device is water resistant, not waterproof. Showers are the only permitted bathing method. Do NOT submerge the SCRAM CAM bracelet in water. If the device is submerged, it will be flagged as attempting to defeat the device and a Tamper or Obstruction alert will be sent. Any damages caused by submerging, or otherwise damaging the SCRAM CAM bracelet, will be your responsibility and you will be financially liable for said damages.
Why is my bracelet making a noise?
When the bracelet takes a reading (every 30 minutes), a light vibrating / buzzing sound is heard. It is normal operation of the device.
What if I have a medical emergency?
In the event of a medical emergency or safety issue, immediately cut the strap and remove the bracelet. Contact a CPI representative ASAP.
Can I wear the bracelet during a medical procedure? (CT Scan, X-Ray, MRI, etc.)
MRI and other medical equipment may produce magnetic fields that may not be compatible with the SCRAM CAM bracelet. Always inform the medical equipment operators that you are wearing the device.
Can I wear clothing between the device and skin?
There should be nothing between the device and contact with the skin. The device must make direct contact with the skin in order to get a reading. Placing an item, such as socks or leggings, will send an Obstruction alert.
How should the bracelet be cleaned?
Clean the device with mild soap and warm water. No harsh chemicals. It is best to clean the device while in the shower. Once cleaned, dry thoroughly.
Who do I call for general questions?
General questions should be directed to your CPI officer. In case of emergency, call 911.
The Base Station is making a noise, what should I do?
This is a normal operation of the base station. This alert is to inform you that the base station has lost connection to power and will soon shut off. To silence the alert, press the button on the front of the base station. Reconnect the base station to power and connect to the internet ASAP.
Does my device need to be charged?
The SCRAM CAM bracelet operated off of an internal battery that is changed periodically. Typically, the battery can last from 3-5 months before it needs to be replaced. When it is time to replace the battery, your CPI officer will schedule for you to come into the office to make the necessary changes.
